Driving a complex system as an enterprise operating in the fashion business often demands critical choices to be taken by management for the company’s growth, sometimes vital for its survival. It is therefore essential to eliminate all barriers between functions, integrating skills and responsibilities: this will allow the company to be able to respond rapidly and efficiently to external and internal demands.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is the key factor to reach this "spirit of excellence" which allows the intelligent company to win every day challenges, making its brand the best among others.

Griffe is a software application solution suited for the Fashion industry. It is the result of our experience and the collaboration of our customers.

The Fashion industry has specific problems such as large volumes of products due to model variations, materials, colors, sizes, seasons, collections and themes, productive cycles and complex procurement, with fragmentation of raw material suppliers, third-party work orders and a large territory distribution.

Griffe is capable of giving quick answers to these problems by smoothing the sequence of peaks in production demand, delivery demand, etc., typical of fashion companies.

List of functionalities

BILL OF MATERIALS
This module is the backbone of the entire solution: in fashion companies, bill of materials is a vital matter. For optimal support to this process, information systems need to allow fast and guided data entry, hierarchical definition of model items and related components, features for easy coloring all levels of the bill, ability to define and manage size and other variants.

Easy connection to CAD systems for receiving pre-defined data is also available.

A correspondent bill of costs is defined and calculated, in relation to the bill of materials and related costs of components.

Operative lifecycle is composed of:

  1. Data entry of raw materials and other components
  2. Data entry of bill of materials, with colors and sizes
  3. Data entry of routings
  4. Data entry of component costs, raw materials and working phases
  5. Bill of costs evaluation, including cost of materials and work
  6. Creation of sales price lists from costs, defining creation rules
  7. Inquiry and reporting of all available data

PRODUCT LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT (PLM)
PLM supports the process of defining new items, containing information about their composition and the way they have to be built. Definitions at different levels are available: formal and non formal (descriptive, images) data can be associated to a model definition, covering all common moments and events typical of creating a collection in the fashion industry. A workflow defining succession of steps and approval phases is also available.

CUSTOMER ORDERS MANAGEMENT
This module supports the entire customer order fulfillment process. Data can be directly entered or fed via EDI or other data exchange methods. All predefined data is copied into the order at the moment of entry and can be modified at order level in case of necessity, maintaining local scope.

PROCUREMENT
This module allows complete management of the procurement process. Materials planning linked to purchasing conditions is available. Under stock replenishment proposal and methods can be defined. Handling of purchase contracts, and their lifecycle completes the scenario.

WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT
RAW MATERIALS:
Manage all raw materials handling at the warehouse, including tracking of purchase lots and material quality (choice). Multiple warehouses, including stocks at third parties are supported. Allocation of on hand for a specific customer or production order is available. Warehouse evaluations at different types of cost as standard, average, LIFO are also in the package. Allocation at production order issuing and consumptions at raw materials picking for production is supported.

FINISHED ITEMS:
The features are similar to those available for raw materials. Handling of items at warehouse is possible on a per customer box (allocation of space per customer) or on per item (allocation of space per item/model) basis. Intake from production is per item or per production lot, also via barcode reading of production tags.

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
This module can contribute with strong support to production planning and scheduling. Proposal of production batches based on user defined criteria are supplied as simulation and "what if" scenarios: all this information is memorized and can be used at any time for approval and/or modification.

Allocation of proposed production orders to suited production centers, in relation to their workload and capacity to make the foreseen production steps, is suggested from our software solution.

Shop floor control allows continuous tracking of reality: this situating is included into the proposal and simulation scenarios, making them based on real time events configuration.

Work in progress (WIP) is evaluated and consumptions of materials and time is spread throughout the entire production cycle. The master production plan can be acquired or proposed from past, allowing simulation of materials and resources requirements, based on rules defined by users.

THIRD PARTY WORK
This module allows handling of all events related to sub contractors and third party working: flows of raw materials and semi-finished goods. Each third party is managed separately with its own stock and shop floor control, but is part of the entire production cycle and can be seen at the same time as part of this.

Having available the costs of working steps per third party, a pre-invoice can be prepared on behalf of third party, in order to smooth the process of invoicing and minimize ex-post controls.

DELIVERY NOTES AND INVOICING
Different delivery modalities are supported, delivery plans are proposed, based on set of supplied parameters: once approved, all suited delivery documents, invoices, packing lists, etc. are prepared.

COMMISSIONS TO AGENTS
This module includes definitions of rules and relationships with agents, and is capable of preparing a pre-invoice on behalf of agent, based on delivered or invoiced or paid merchandise.
